Overview
In Redpoint, staff with the appropriate permissions [Permission: Custom Courses: Create, Edit, and Delete] can create custom courses to accommodate events that occur outside of standard pre-scheduled times. Any plan that allows for custom course creation can be used for this purpose. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to set up a custom course offering within the system.
Configure From Calendar
- Go to the Calendar menu.
- Click the blue Add Custom Course button.
- Select the appropriate Plan to associate with this custom course from the list provided.
If the desired plan is not listed, you must create the plan before proceeding.
Custom Course Builder
After selecting your Plan, you can customize the course using the following options:
- Use Custom Title: Enter a custom title if you'd like to label the course differently than the selected Plan name.
- Course-Level Staff Assignments: Toggle this option on if you wish to assign staff to the course. Leave it off if no staff assignment is needed.
- Enable Staff Assignments: Once enabled, enter the name(s) of the staff member(s) you'd like to assign. You can assign multiple staff members at once if required.
- Notes: Add any relevant details or additional information about the course in the provided text box.
- Session Start Date: Select the date when the course session will begin.
- Session Duration (Minutes): Specify how long the session will last in minutes.
- Add Session: For courses with multiple sessions, click the blue Add Session button to add more. Configure the start date and duration for each additional session as needed.
Booking Custom Course
After configuring the course, select it on the calendar if you would like to add a new booking. Choose the blue "+ New Booking" button.
Select the number of enrollments and enter any needed promo codes. Next, choose blue "Select Course" button for the date and time slot custom course that you are booking.
Complete the setup by answering any configured questions, entering the number of enrollment slots (if known), and adding the course to the cart.
You can collect payment directly in the cart to complete the transaction and activate the contract.
Alternatively, if you plan to collect payment later, you can skip the cart and click Activate Contract in the bottom-left corner to activate it immediately.
Configure From Plans
- Go to the Build menu. Select Plans.
- Choose the desired Plan from the list.
- Select the Manage Custom Courses button.
If the Manage Custom Courses button is not visible, you must toggle on the ability to from within the Plan's Edit menu > Calendar tab > "Allow Staff to create custom courses" toggle.
Once you have chosen "Manage Custom Courses," you will click the blue New Custom Course button.
Click "+ Add Session" and configure your custom course.
