Detached courses are created when a course’s Schedule is changed such that it excludes course(s) that already have contracts booked into them.
If a Program Plan’s Schedule settings are changed and the excluded course(s) do not have contracts booked into them, the courses are removed from the calendar - they will not show as detached.
You can run detached courses as is - the only difference is that a detached courses can no longer be viewed or booked by customers online. Staff can view and book into the detached course via the staff-facing Calendar.
Customer’s with active or confirmed contracts in a detached course remain unchanged - their contract is still accessible in their customer record and via the customer portal. They are NOT notified in any way when their course becomes detached.
You will get a warning when you try to save your changes by clicking OK to save your schedule changes
To undo and NOT create detached courses, click Cancel on this warning AND click Cancel on the Schedule Window - your changes will not be saved.
If you’ve detached a course in error
It’s ok! You can still run the course as is.
If you want to open additional bookings online, make a new course session (using a fixed date rule if it is just for one date) and adjust the course booking limits to account for the contracts in the detached booking.
You can also leave booking limits as is and move the contracts from the detached course to the “new” course. This method WILL auto-email booked customers with their “new” course info.
