Network Failover Procedure

What to Do If Your Primary Internet Provider Has an Outage

If your primary internet service goes down and your network switches to a failover or backup connection, Redpoint may temporarily stop working. This is expected and is easy to fix.

Why This Happens

When Redpoint launches through Basecamp, your current IP address is automatically whitelisted.
If your internet connection changes (for example, switching to a failover provider), your IP address also changes and must be re-whitelisted.

How to Fix It

After any internet failover or network change:

  1. Close your browser

  2. Restart Basecamp

  3. Reopen Redpoint

This forces Redpoint to recognize and whitelist your new IP address.

How to Identify This Issue

You will know this is the cause if:

  • Your failover internet is working

  • Other websites load normally

  • Redpoint does not load or connect

Restarting Basecamp and relaunching Redpoint will resolve the issue.
