This article will walk though how configuring which stored payment methods are allowed through the storefront, how customers can add a payment method through the customer portal and how staff can add payment information for a customer.
Configuration
You can choose which forms of stored payment methods you want to allow for customers.
- Manage (menu) > Organization & Facilities (dropdown) > Facility: [Location] > Storefront Facility Settings
- Use the drop down menus in Payment Configuration to select eligible stored payment methods for the Online Storefront.
Eligible stored payment methods depend on your payment provider and what options you have opted into with your payment provider
Customer
Customers can update their Stored Payment Method through their customer portal.
Adding from customer portal
Once the customer has logged into their portal they would follow these steps:
- Go to Payment Methods in the Left navigation menu
- Press
- Select the type of store payment
- This only comes up if more then one type of stored payment is allowed by the facility
- Enter the payment method information
Removing from Customer profile
Customers can also delete Payment Methods through their customer portal.
Once the customer has logged into their portal they would follow these steps:
- Go to Payment Methods in the Left navigation menu
- Press delete for the method to remove
- Confirm that you want to delete that payment method
If the customer is the contract holder for an active contract with recurring dues then they are required to have at least 1 payment method on file. They will be prevented from deleting the payment method if they only have 1.
Staff
Manually add stored payment method
Open the customer record.
- Navigate to Payment Methods
- Press Add Payment Method
- Select the Provider
- Select the Method
- Manually enter the payment method information
For Credit Cards you you will need to use Credit Card > web form capture to manually type in the card information. Capturing Stored Payment Information through the terminal is not currently supported.
