Customer Segments

Creating Customer Segments

Customer Segments will define a group of customers that can be used with Redpoint’s built-in tools to create custom Reports, Email Automations, Promotions, and several other applications.

Segments can be defined based on attributes of the Customer Record, Customer Activity, or specific tags.

Go to Manage Menu > Customer Segments & Requirements  > Segment List Tab > Create New Customer Segment

General Tab

  • Name and Group your Segment
  • Add a Description
  • Toggle to restrict to admin.  Protect segments used in Customer Requirements

Builder Tab

  • Select in Dropdown Menu found at the top of the screen
    • Match all of the following: Segment must match ALL Conditions
    • Match any of the following: Segment can match any Condition specified in Builder
    • DOES NOT match all of the following: Customer will only populate in Grid if Customer Record does not match all of the specified Conditions
    • DOES NOT match any of the following: Customer does not match any of the specified Conditions
  • + Add Condition
    • Customer Record: Segment based on attributes on the Customer Record
    • Customer Activity: Segment based on actions the customer has taken
    • Misc.: Add Custom SQL for specified queries
    • Tags: Segment based on Tags placed on the Customer Record
    • Custom Attribute: Segment based on Custom Attributes defined by facility policies

Conditions can be built to identify customers who satisfy a certain condition, or if customers DO NOT satisfy the defined condition via a drop-down selection in the Condition Builder.

Segments can be built to identify all matching conditions, any matching conditions, or if the segment will be defined based on if the conditions are missing (DOES NOT match any/all of the following conditions)

Extremely granular queries are possible within Customer Segments. Let’s build an example customer segment configuration to identify Elite Members. An example configuration of Conditions used to segment these customers could be:

  1. Active Members, excluding Staff Memberships, with a dynamic relative date of ‘today.’
    1. Toggle ‘ON’ Advanced Filter to Include/Exclude specific plans, products, or customers.
    2. Define the date range. For ‘Active today,’ use a Relative Date configuration of:     StartOfDay TO EndOfDay.

  1. Aged 18 or older.

  1. At least 3 check-ins within a date range of the past 7 days.
    1. Define the Date Range for check-ins. To query based on the past 7 days of check-in: Use a Relative Date configuration from SubDays:7 TO EndOfDay

Relative Date Methods stack.  This example looks to the 1st of the upcoming month.

>Add Months 1

>Start Of Month

  1. Customers also attended a yoga class within a date range of the past 7 days.
