Register Configuration: Create New Register

Registers are a way of labeling a workstation.  Register Names get assigned to Seats, and all invoices and/or payments taken at the workstation using the seat get labeled as having been received through that register. You will likely want to make a Register name for each of your front desk computers used for Point of Sale.

In addition to the Register names you create, Redpoint has a built in "Back Office" register and a "Storefront" Register.

  • The Back Office Register is the one assigned to User Seats, and can also be assigned to Workstation seats if desired.
  • The Storefront register is specifically for transactions completed through the storefront - so through your Web and Kiosk storefronts online and at kiosks in the gym.

Go to:
Manage > Organization & Facility Settings > Facility:[Name] > Point of Sale > Registers >
Add New Register.
Repeat in each location for multi-location

Configure the following in each register (screenshot below)

Fields 1, 2, and 3: Code, Label, Description are up to you.

The Code is shown in POS history next to the facility name and in other reporting.
The Label is shown in the top right corner of the Redpoint screen

Field 4: Card Terminal is a setting for registers that have a credit card terminal attached, such as a front desk register. For all other registers that do not have a terminal attached (ie. back office), leave this as None.
Note: This pulldown menu contains all the devices tied to your FiServ account. Contact Fiserv to adjust this content.

Field 5: Register Counts controls your cash register counts.  Leave as NONE if this register has it's own drawer.

If you have 2 or more registers pointing to a single cash drawer, set per the following example:

  • On Register 1 leave Register Counts as NONE - this is the register where the cash will be counted at Closing/z-out
  • On Register 2, select Register Counts as Register 1.
  • This means all cash and check transactions done via Register 2 will be counted with and under Register 1's cash count at z-out.
